The new Marina Square building was designed as part of a redevelopment master plan for Squalicum Harbor. The goal was to create better visual and pedestrian connections between the outer and inner basins at the waterfront. Our design intent was to maintain an appealing pedestrian experience, emphasizing both the recreational and commercial aspects of the harbor. The existing structure was therefore demolished, in order to connect the surrounding parking with pedestrian pathways. Lined with nautical lighting, trees, grates, and concrete pavers the sidewalks compose an attractive streetscape for pedestrians and users. The new building was sited for easy access to office/retail tenants, as well as light industrial usage.
